6th Grade Social Dance:

6th grade social dance is on hold for now for 2020-2021. We will update families when we know more about how we can offer the program.

Social Dance is a time-honored EMS tradition offered to 6th grade students. In recent years, EMS PTA partnered with Arthur Murray to provide a fresh, new approach to the dance. The opportunity to participate in this social setting provides students physical & social benefits. Students will master dance steps and gain confidence through participation while moving and grooving. Social dance is a series of 8 dance lessons on select Friday evenings during the school year.

  • Girls: Simple party dress or dressy skirt and top, dress shoes.  White gloves to be provided by the student. White gloves can easily be found on Amazon.
  • Boys: Jacket and tie, dress trousers (no jeans), leather dress shoes (no sneakers).

Students are expected to conduct themselves in a polite manner.  Arrive at class no more than ten minutes ahead of time.  Arrange to be picked up promptly after class.

Email will be the primary vehicle for communication.  Please check your e-mail for cancellations due to weather, date changes, and any other news related to the program.

We need 10 parent chaperones per dance to help out.
