Registration Opens September 4th

An honored EMS tradition returns this fall—the 6th Grade Social Dance series! This long-standing event brings 6th graders together to learn classic and modern ballroom steps from the pros at Arthur Murray Dance School, while enjoying a fun and welcoming atmosphere.

Over five Friday nights, students will dress up (yes, sneakers welcome!) and fill the gym with music, movement, and laughter. Along the way, they’ll have chances to win prizes for participation, effort, and dance-floor spirit. It’s more than just learning to dance—it’s about building confidence, making memories, and sharing this special tradition with friends.

What to Wear:
Dress to impress in your own personal style! Sneakers welcome
*No athleisure, shorts or jeans please 
White Gloves to be provided by the PTA for girls 

What to Know:

Schedule & Location
All dances will be held in the Eastern Middle School gymnasium on Friday nights from 6:30-7:30pm. Please enter the building through the gymnasium doors.

*Make-up date in the event of cancellation: 11/21

*Phones must be turned off and put away from 6:30-7:30.

Phone basket available for safekeeping at the check-in table. 

Drop-Off
Parents/guardians are requested to use the bus circle loop to drop off their child at the front entrance to use the gym doors. Please do not park your car at the bus circle. Carpool encouraged.

$150 per student for all 5 sessions.

Chaperone Volunteers

No event can be successful without your help! Please consider volunteering as a chaperone for the 6th-grade social dances. Volunteers are needed on-site from 5:30pm to 8pm the day of the dance. Volunteer responsibilities include, but are not limited to, setting up name tags, check-in, prizes, raffle tickets, and door monitors.
