We are excited to bring back the 6th grade Social Dances for our 2022-23 school year.


The Social Dance is a time-honored EMS tradition that provides 6th graders an opportunity to learn traditional ballroom dancing while having a great time socializing with their peers. This 6-class program will be taught by Arthur Murray Dance School and provides students with a fresh, new approach to dance. Participating in a social setting allows students to learn traditional dances while having fun and possibly winning prizes with their friends!




Simple party dresses or skirts & tops, dress shoes encouraged.

White Gloves to be provided by the PTA

Jackets and tie, dress trousers (no jeans), and dress shoes are encouraged.



All dances will be held in the Easter Middle School gymnasium.

Please enter the building through the gymnasium doors.



Parents/guardians are requested to use the bus circle loop to drop off their child at the gym entrance.  Please do not park your car at the bus circle. Please try to carpool to speed up our drop-off and dismissal process.  




All dances are held Fridays from 6:30 pm -7:30 pm.

Please note dismissal time for Feb 3rd dance is 7:20pm

$125 per student for all 6 sessions, 

Cost includes 6 dances with instructions & prizes.

No event can be successful without your help! Volunteer as chaperone for the 6th-grade social dances. You would need to help from 6 pm to 8 pm on the dance day. Volunteer responsibilities include but are not limited to setting up name tags, check-in, prizes, raffle tickets, and door monitors. 

Each family may sign up to chaperone only one of the 6 dances.
You may sign up as a standby for multiple dances. We will contact you if we need additional help or have last-minute cancellations.

An email before each dance will be sent with all the details to the ticket holders. Please read it for specific instructions for that day.
