General Membership Meeting

The 2026–27 EMS PTA Board of Directors will be elected at this meeting. We are really hoping to find two parents to step into our VP of Fundraising roles—the PTA’s enrichment programs and student experiences are only made possible through the funds we raise, and we would truly appreciate your help!

The EMS PTA’s updated bylaws will also be on the general meeting agenda. Every three years, PTA bylaws must be reviewed by a committee and submitted to the CT PTA. General PTA membership must then vote to approve the revised bylaws. You can contact the PTA Co-Presidents (president@emspta.org) to arrange a time to review the updated bylaws.

EMS Book Fair is
Happening May 18-22

We need YOU to make this the best book fair yet! There are shifts available to fit any schedule. Remember the super sneaky parent tip: you can time your volunteering to your children's class visit.

Shop for the latest books and great gift ideas while supporting our school—20% of all sales benefit the EMS Media Center. Every student who makes a purchase will be entered into a raffle, with two winners selected from each grade.

This Year's Field Day!

Gator Games will take place on “Get Out and Play Day” on Friday, May 22. Come cheer on your child:

Grade 6 – 8:25-9:50am

Grade 7 – 9:55-11:20am

Grade 8 – 11:25am-12:50pm

Parents can also get in on the action by signing up to volunteer at the event. We appreciate your help!

See the event flyer for additional details. Your child should wear a shirt that matches their team color (based on homeroom).

Volunteers Needed for
EMS 8th Grade Career Day

We are still in need of additional parent volunteers to help support Career Day throughout the day. This event relies heavily on volunteers, and we cannot run it smoothly without extra help!

While all parent volunteers are welcome, we especially encourage both 7th and 8th grade parents to consider volunteering to help support this special day for our students.

We need volunteers throughout the morning to greet and escort speakers, set up refreshments, and other tasks that keep everything running smoothly. In the afternoon, we need volunteers to assist during a party for the 8th Graders. To help, sign up HERE.

We are pleased to announce the 8th Grade Beach Party will be held on Thursday, June 18th at Tod's Point. Please save the date for your child. More information to come including permission slips, volunteer needs, and donation items.
