Field Day This Year!

Gator Games will take place on “Get Out and Play Day” on Friday, May 22nd. Come cheer on your child:

Grade 6 – 8:25-9:50am

Grade 7 – 9:55-11:20am

Grade 8 – 11:25am-12:50pm

See the event flyer for additional details. Your child should wear a shirt that matches their team color (based on homeroom) and if he/she would like an official Field Day shirt you can order one here.

**All tee shirt orders are due on Wednesday, April 29 at 5pm**

Revised EMS PTA Bylaws:
Special Vote on May 20

Every three years our EMS PTA bylaws need to be reviewed by a committee and submitted to the CT PTA. As part of this process, the general PTA membership has to vote and approve the revised bylaws.

We will be voting on the updated bylaws at the next EMS PTA general meeting on Wednesday, May 20 at 9am in the school cafeteria. Please contact the PTA Co-Presidents (president@emspta.org) to arrange a time to review them.

Open EMS PTA Volunteer Roles

We shared the Nominating Committee's proposed 2026–27 EMS PTA Board of Directors. We still have three openings for the following Executive Board positions:

• VP of Curriculum Enrichment (1 opening) – Partner with the school and PTA to bring engaging educational programs and speakers to EMS students.

• VP of Fundraising (2 openings) – Help lead and support PTA fundraising events and initiatives that make our programs possible.

Anyone interested in running for a board position—including the open roles above—may self-nominate by May 6 by contacting the EMS PTA Co-Presidents at president@emspta.org. See the Get Involved webpage for more information.

EMS Book Fair is
Happening May 18-22

We need YOU to make this the best book fair yet! There are shifts available to fit any schedule. Remember the super sneaky parent tip: you can time your volunteering to your children's class visit.

Shop for the latest books and great gift ideas while supporting our school—20% of all sales benefit the EMS Media Center. Every student who makes a purchase will be entered into a raffle, with two winners selected from each grade.

Volunteers Needed for
EMS 8th Grade Career Day

On Tuesday, May 26 we’re hosting Career Day for our 8th graders—one of the highlights of the year—and we can’t make it happen without your help.

We are looking for 8th grade parent volunteers from 7:30am-12:30pm to provide support during the event (see the latest GatorBytes for more info). Even if you can only volunteer for half of the morning or afternoon, we appreciate the help!
